Advanced Placement (AP)

The College Board® Advanced Placement Program is a collaborative effort among motivated students, dedicated teachers, and committed high schools, colleges, and universities. Since it was launched in 1955, the AP Program has allowed students to take college-level courses and exams and to earn college credit and/or placement while still in high school. Credit for comparable college or university courses is awarded for passing scores on AP examinations at the sole discretion of each higher education institution. AP courses carry a 6.0 weight in the FLDOE course code directory.
